The Trampion Story

The Trampion is one special amplifier - Small in stature, and a Mighty Giant in tone!!!!  Based on the single most famous circuit ever built, but we have added the ability to significantly change output limits and tone with simple tube swaps with no re-biasing required!

Single knob, single channel. simple as it gets... Special, beefed-up transformers allow this amplifier to go beyond the single 6V6GT of the original design thus allowing you to swap out the 6V6GT for a more powerful 5881 (6L6GWB), or even the venerable 6L6GC! You have so many options through tube swapping, that this amplifier can take you from small bar to large venues in seconds - all without having to re-bias. Higher headroom, lower headroom? the choice is yours!!!!!!

The Trampion comes with the following tubes installed: 1 x E83CC tube (12AX7 Variant), 1 x NOS 5Y3S rectifier tube, 1 x NOS 6V6GT

The TUBE TOOLKIT (which is included with every Trampion Head) is a selection of Pre-Tested NOS and current production tubes housed in a shockproof/waterproof case that allow you to make significant changes to the tone and power of your amplifier. Choices might vary very slightly as every tube is matched to each individual amplifier and generally the toolkit will contain:

1 x 12AY7, 1 x 12AX7, 1 x NOS 12AX7, 1 x 6V6S Double Mica (new production), 1 x NOS 6V6GT, 1 x 5881 (new production), 1 x 6L6GC (new production), 1 x 5Y3S (new production). Photos of the case and the typical tube compliment can be seen in the photo gallery below.

***** All 10" and 12" speaker cabinets have a single hidden, internal microphone built in and wired with an XLR output jack - This is a game changer and an exclusive IMI feature because going forward - whether you are a touring, gigging, or recording musician, a single cable is all it will take to get an amazing and consistent sound from your amplifier!! Our internal microphone system is perfectly integrated with your amplifier and it is is another fantastic feature from IMI. For cabinets with multiple speakers, we can add additional microphones - you won't believe the sound!

******A word about new production tubes and the ones we use in the Trampion. For any current production Trampion tubes we exclusively use tubes provided to us by Eurotubes in Oregon. The tubes sold by Eurotubes are manufactured by JJ Electronics in the Slovak Republic. Eurotubes then takes all tubes and subjects them to the best testing in the business. We can make certain requests for our needs, and by the time we receive our Eurotubes, we have what we feel are the best quality and sounding tubes being manufactured today. Once received, we do our own testing and burn in, and match EVERY single tube to the amplifier it will be going home with!! We keep notes so that you will be able to match tubes in the future. Please feel confident that in addition to our copious use of New Old Stock tubes, that you are receiving the highest quality, best sounding, and perfectly matched tubes available today!
